Carbon Finish Damage

I have had my BR 03-92 Carbon for less than 24 hours. It already has "wear" revealing the stainless in two (2) different places. I have not even touched it to another surface other than my skin and shirt. Is this characteristic? Am I crazy to think a $3900 timepiece should be a bit more resilient?

dbronken- NEVER heard this.
I can't believe that the PVD would have come off in that way.
I have/had many Carbon B&R watches, and this has not occurred unless it has come into contact with another surface.

Not sure what to suggest.

All I can say, is that over time, things will happen to the watch, knocks, scuffs and scrapes, but it adds to the character of the watch.
My Commando, is slightly scared by misfits, but I like it now.

....otherwise, I believe you need to go to a third party and have it recoated, which is not easy and will be expensive.
Have you asked the AD, their thoughts?

Strange result in 24hrs...

Recoating is an expensive option, it has to be made by a third-party company cause BR wont do it, they generally change the whole damaged piece.
Maybe you should contact your AD to have it checked, maybe there's a real defect on your pvd coating and in that case BR will fix it for free
