    Baselworld 2014...

Baselworld 2014…..I attended the launch of the Bell & Ross B-ROCKET bike and watches on Wednesday evening at the stand in Hall 1. Must say that I had seen the images of the bike back in November last year, but in the flesh its certainly impressive and the guys at Shaw Harley-Davidson have done a spectacular job, well done Steve and team…

The watches too, have taken on a different look, to past years, and it feels that B&R are moving up the Horological ladder, with producing their own movement (watch out later this year) and the use of ceramic on the BR03 range from now on.

The BR01 and BR03 B-ROCKET watches, were actually far better than the images I had seen ALL over Basel, from the many billboard posters that adorned the Basel streets!

Generally the show and the offerings were great this year, and I will be bold enough to say that this was the BEST offering I’ve seen from B&R since 2010.

    BR01-94 & BR03-90 B-Rocket
The watches take their inspiration from the 1960’s and celebrate the very first American jet aircraft.

The last of the BR03 PVD’s! This BR03-94 Carbon Orange is the last, B&R will use ceramic from now on for this range…

BR03-92 Heritage ceramic, along with the classic and phantoms will be produced this year

Great to see this Vintage 123 GMT with the classic look and a splash of orange!

WW1-92 GUYNEMER, pays tribute to Pilot, pioneer and knight of the Sky, Georges Guynemer

A new elegant and stylish BR03-90 with Rose Gold and white dial, a total transformation…

Loved this chunky and classy Vintage BR126

Well done to B&R, and many thanks to Ilinca for her time and of course to Bruno & Carlos for inviting me to the stand.

    All the best

Great report Si. Any idea what movement is in that vintage 126? Looks to be similar to the 126 Flyback.

Good to hear from you again Simon and thanks for the report and photos.

I must say that your photos show the watches in a much more real light than the promotional photos and they do look better as a result.

Bell & Ross do seem to be climbing that ladder; I hope their prices do not climb too high and beyond my reach also.

    Thanks for sharing.

I must say that as always, the pre show/renderings and press releases never do their prospective products real justice. You have to see, feel and try on these products to really get a proper feel for them.

The watch that most impressed me is the one funnily enough that I can't talk about or show any pics until later in the year, but its radical, bold and a real statement piece I think for B&R.

From what I saw and in terms of what B&R as a brand mean to me, I would have the BR03 B-Rocket, for its interesting dial, cool design aesthetic and size. The new vintage pieces look great, and I got the impression that the brand have really put a lot of thought into the watches, design and the straps.
May be its because I am an outsider looking in for the first time in a long time, but I like what I saw through that square window……!

Great insight Si... I'm loving this year's lineup. Its like they really took a close look and listen to what we, the true BR collectors, wanted to see. Great to see BR stepping up their game across the board

    Thanks for the report Si!!!
Maybe because you're an "outsider looking in", but for me reading this report was like reading one of your "old" reports. And just as this is the freshest lineup I've seen from B&R in a few years, your report is the freshest I've seen from you in a few years too BR-AVO!!!
