    Baselworld 2014 : my report

    Hello BRo's,

    A promise kept!
Here is a short report of my trip to Basel, rich in emotion, surprises and encounters.

First of all I would like to thank Sirs Carlos Rosillo & Bruno Belamich, Emeline and the entire B&R staff for their incredible kindness and availability.

    Part 1: Travel and Commemoration

Early departure from my train station ... 7am to Paris Nord and Lyon short break to Paris where I meet Looping504. We will make the journey together towards Basel.
Arrival around 13:30 at station Basel SBB.

Time for a tram ride to the expo fair, and a first class WristShot ...

Here is the famous place when we arrived, and the lobby:

    Heading : B&R booth!!

that one may be in the category of blurry photos ...

15h: Fatboy, Gudzz, Looping and I are received by Mister Bell & Emeline, Mister Ross joined us a few minutes later.
The presentation of the 2014 range begins ...

    First theme: Commemoration.
2014 rhyme firstly with the centenary of the beginning of the First World War.
Bell & Ross to pay tribute to a hero of that era: Captain Georges GUYNEMER pilot and Knight of the sky, creating the "WW1 SL Guynemer"

With its 45mm, its white dial with this unique symbol of the squadron SPA3 (red stork), "Sage" blued hands (Luminescent for hour and minute), its specific typo for numbers, we are faced with an exceptional limited edition :

The caseback receives a laser etching with the effigy of "Le Vieux Charles' pilot :

2014 also rhymes with the 75 years of the start of World War II.
On this occasion, a tribute is paid to all the pilots of nations involved, with the SL "Vintage BR Insignia"

The rosettes were present on the wings and fuselage of WWII aircrafts and are now present on these limited editions, result has undeniably a vintage look.

    To be continued...

    Thank you for reading!

    What happens next ...

    Part II: Evolution(s)

The second theme concerns the evolution in 2014, or more specifically THE evolutions...

Development for 03 first, with a desire to standardize the range and increase the "perceived" quality.
Ceramics is fast approaching for 42mm square, and 4 declinations headlights: Classic, Phantom, Commando and Heritage.
You've already seen pictures, but I can assure you that the discovery and manipulation of these 4 babies was awesome!

Changing hands, numbers, screws, and the adoption of a scratch-resistant, ultra-light hi-tech material ... Incredible but true

And my favorite, I even allowed myself to WristShot!

03 PVD remains! for those who love that scratches and dings are part of a watch history.
Check this SL 03-94 Orange, with the famous matching orange canvas strap!

Upgradings also for the 03-94 SS, which wins applied indexes and a beautiful new leather strap stamped with the ampersand:

Arrival of rose gold for the 03... Mix of steel and rose gold to be precise.
An incredible white dial, a SOPROD 9090 movement, here's the 03-90 SS & RG
Want the same in 01 size Gentlemen please!!!
    Simply beautiful ...

And icing on the cake, a new 03-90 Full Rose Gold with smoked dial revealing parts of the movement, as date discs.
No numbers, very original and specific index hands...
Eric, don't look the foolowing pics!

Arrival of 03-97 , with its little date at 4:30 and power reserve indicator :

Evolution also for Vintage BR126 Flyback, which earns a movement especially manufactured for Bell & Ross. It becomes the first Flyback GMT ever produced by BR.
Very thick, but what a presence !
The counter at 9 o'clock is the second time zone (24 hours)

Before starting the third part, I have to show you the Vintage BR123 GMT.
A second timezone has been added on the bezel, and a big orange hand, adding a very useful complication in this 3 hands watch :

Not necessarily my favorite style, this orange hand being a little disproportionate for my taste.

Only top -sellers in my humble opinion !

Thank you very much for the report KF.

That lobby photo looks over crowded, so many people.

I must be a very fussy person (forgive me Bell & Ross); out of all the watches shown none of them are screaming buy me so far. I honestly wish there was something that really captivates my soul as I would like another Bell & Ross and would also like another watch to strive towards.

The ceramics are very well done but I am not used to the screws being so uniform and in align for a functional Bell & Ross.

The 03-97 did take my eye at first glance however being in traditional stainless steel with the bezel screws being offset at different degrees and it also has the four dial screws.

Admittedly they are all very beautiful pieces, but are just not quite there for me.

    Part III: B- Revolution

Ultimate theme for this year 2014, the B-Revolution. It began with the presentation of the concept bike/aircraft : the B-Rocket

We find all the aviation codes in this motorcycle. A very special "nose", a rear spoiler and reactors on both sides .
    Phil is still open-mouthed ...

BR01 and BR03 The B- Rocket are directly inspired by this unique concept. They incorporate elements like a perforated dial revealing the daters discs or those awesome counters which really have a "crash-test" look

First of all, the BR03 ... Based on the 03-90, we find the large date at 12 o'clock and the power reserve at 6 o'clock.

Red, black and brushed steel : "racy" atmosphere for these two models. The special leather strap with red edges is just beautiful.
The red triangle at 12 is a reminder of the red zone of the B-Rocket counter.

Finally my favorite of all , the 01 !
The "short time" counter at 9am is really amazing...

Well, you guessed it , this one is on top of my wishlist ... I hated to leave it !

End of appointment, time for a photo with Carlos and Gudzz, it will be time to reach the hotel... A good pizza is waiting for us!

Still a surprise waiting for us at the exit of the BR booth ... We cross the famous Oksana, well known on IG for a quick chat . She is charming !

Thanks again for reading, all my excuses for my English
