BR01-92 Turn Coordinator not glowing in the dark

I recently bought a BR01 Turn Coordinator from the AD in Oman. Since then I have noticed that the dial does not have any sort of glow in the dark. Totally black. Before purchase I had checked the B&R website for details on this particular watch. It is clearly mentioned in the website that the "horizon line, index markers and hands are covered in a photo-luminescent coating". I assumed the photo-luminescent coating is supposed to glow in the dark. Or, did I assume wrong? This is my first B&R and I love it, but have no prior experience with the brand. I request members and experts to comment on this and would like fellow TC owners to post their experience as well.

Hi and welcome to the forum, also congratulations on your new Bell & Ross.

Sorry I do not have an answer for you but it is an interesting question as the official site does indeed state what you have quoted.

I almost would be inclined to say it was a copy and paste error but as the official site mentions “The horizon line” (which is unique to this watch) it seem odd that it does not glow as you have said.

I hope someone can give you a conclusive answer as I would be interested to know as well.

Thanks six13. I did think it as a copy paste error as you mentioned, but would like to know whether the turn coordinator does have luminance and mine is an exception. I am quite sure there are some TC owners here who could confirm that. And, if it is indeed a copy paste error, it most probably came from the BR01 Horizon spec sheet.

Hi,there is definitely not any luminescent coating on the Turn Coordinator....mine has none either. As to the horizon line it is simply etched or printed white onto the underside of the glass as is the black lower half. I think it would have been nice if they had lumed this model but my other Pink Gold Compass neither has any at all so i can take from that it must go across the board on these.....hope that helps. P.S ....fantastic watch anyhow with just the most eye catching dial.

Gentlemen, Thanks for confirming the absence of lume on the watch. I would have bought the watch even without the lume anyway. But the website just got me confused. As you said, it just eye-catching and fantastic on the wrist. Already thinking of the Altimeter now!

A much as I like Bell & Ross I really do think they need to be far more careful and precise on what they are stating on their official webpages.

It is very misleading to new customers and can cause harm to their reputation when their technical descriptions are incorrect.

This is not the first time that an error has been discovered on their official webpages.

In this day and age most would take official sites to be accurate and true representations of their products.

Come on Bell & Ross it would not take much to check each watch on your official pages to make sure their descriptions and photos are true to the actual watches.

True indeed. I almost doubted the AD for selling me a fake watch!

There was lume on my original Radar...just on the red/yellow and green markers but it wasn't very strong.
