BR at Salon Belles Montres 2014

As you probably know BR was, once again this year, present to the french fair "Salon Belles Montres" at Paris Carrousel du Louvre.
In addition of Simon's report focus on the GTG that took place that day, let's focus here on the booth of our beloved Ampersand brand.

Welcome to Salon Belles Montres where BR has a place of choice, with a large booth right at the main entrance.
The first thing that you can notice entering the fair, was the concept bike BRocket, posing directly in the middle of the booth.
Its colors, its racing design, its presence made it one of the most important element of the booth. A large picture of the bike riding on the salt lake at Bonneville was reinforcing that presence in the background.

The first window display welcoming you was of course the one related to the 2 limited editions BRocket. the BR01-94 and BR03-90 were well exposed.

Continuing on the booth, you found 2 other displays with novelties from this year. One focusing on the new BR03-92 matte ceramic range, the othe rone on the GMT theme including the new Vintage123 GMT and the lovely Vintage 126 Flyback/GMT.

In the background behing the back, 3 displays putting the light on the versions WW1 jumping hour and regulator, the new limited editions WW1 Guynemer and Vintage126 Insignia, also the exclusive argentium pocket watches PW1 Minue Repeater.

The friendly (and always accessible) BR staff was waiting for you behind this large glass table gathering an impressive selection of watches, answering all your questions and most of all letting you try all the watches you wanted.

But the main element in that booth, the one everything converge to, was of course the big release of this year : The brand new chronograph Bell&Ross BR-X1.
She was proudly sitting alone in a display, highlighted by a huge visual of the Dubois Depraz movement in shape of a X.
Everything was made to put her in evidence, and she deserves it!

In detail, you can find its grade5 titanium case, proteged by a kind of black matte ceramic belt, its red rubber insert on the left side echoing the red color of the rubber used on the toggle chrono pushers. You can pay attention to the little (and funny) details of the pushers where the signs Play/Pause and Stop have been engraved. Its smoke tinted glass dial allowing you to see the DD2162 movement with a top plate manufactured especially for BR by Dubois Depraz. The black DLC treatment, the conscientious finish of every parts, the openworked date disk, and the jewels colors totally pop out. The ultra technic "industrial" look, is IMO, very appealing. Pretty sure the 250 units of this limited edition will find new hapy owners very shorlty.

I hope this glimpse pleased you.
See you soon on the forum.

So I was reading through GQ this month and saw an ad for a new Hublot Dwane Wade skeleton chronograph and it caught my eye. It looks to me like it's using the same "designed for Bell & Ross" chronograph module. Same date wheel, same jewel positions, same everything...

    Thoughts?

That movement is not the Unico. The Unicos are only in the King Power

BR at Salon Belles Montres 2014

The DD movement used in the X1 has been used before in some Hublot and Harry Winston watches with different design.

In the Hublot collection, as far as I know, it has been used on the classic fusion chronograph and that new edition Wade is part of that collection, so it's normal to find similarities between both.

However the inside design is exclusive to the X1.
