Thank you everyone for the warm welcome!

Funny story... I was working for a big company at the time and we were working with a Swiss subcontractor as part of a development effort. I had a opportunity to travel to Switzerland for the first time and thought I would buy my first Swiss watch... mechanical movement of course. So my co-workers and I strolled the Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich until I came across a beautiful moon face chronograph in a display case. I tried on the watch and it was simply gorgeous, so I took out my credit card and asked the woman helping me how much was the watch (don't remember the manufacturer). When she told me 11,999 Swiss Francs I almost fell over! It was so funny because I had no clue what they cost and it was well beyond my means at the time! I thought, can you imagine if I charged it to my card and went home to discover the exchange rate would have put the watch in the $18,000+ range! It would have been worth a ticket to fly back to return it and that's if they would take it back! Yikes!!!

After recovering, I placed my credit card back into my pocket, but so began my love affair with the Swiss mechanical watch. In the 1990's I bought my first Swiss watch and so it goes.... I've had multiple brands over the years but hung on to the IWC that I bought in the 1990's. I even had an opportunity to tour the factory in Schaffhausen.

My first B&R was a Vintage 123 bought in Lyon France by a authorized distributer. The color of the dial, the simplicity of the design really caught my eye. My wife was with me and decided to spoil me with the Vintage 123.

When the Military ceramic came out it just blew me away... It was bumped to the top of my must have list. Today it is still the watch that blows up my skirt!
