03-94 chrono resetting to 1 second

I have a technical question for anyone who has run into this before. My 03-94 Carbon Orange is not resetting correctly. When I start the chronograph it runs smooth and appears to be moving at the correct pace, but when I stop it and reset it, the central second hand returns to the 1 second tick, not the 12:00 location. Has anyone seen this before? Is this something that needs service, or is there anything I can do to fix it (i.e., let the watch run down, or something simple like that).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Joe

Service. Must be hurting to have it like that.

On the bright side, I recently got mine back after a service and received a BR pouch with it! Pretty good score if you ask me. Photo attached.

Yeah the travel pouch is nice! I was hoping maybe something was magnetized and I could handle it. I don't mind sending it off, just can't stand the wait. I guess it's like getting a new watch when it returns thanks for the advice BR0s! I'll wait until after the holidays and send it in!

I thought I would post and provide some information I received from BR. Apparently, the Chronograph second hand is designed with some 'play' to prevent protect the movement under shock. BR were more than happy to fix the watch under warranty, and they were extremely pleasant and easy to deal with. But it does sound like, this is 'normal'. He said everything will still work (of course you'll have to subtract 1 second from the Chrono time and deal with the center hand not being aligned when not in use).

Has anyone else heard of this? Can anyone confirm that is the case? I do not recall the watch being under any shock greater than wearing, walking, opening and closing doors, etc - normal use. That's not to say that one of those daily activities didn't send the right shock up my wrist. My point is, I would hate to 'fix it' only to have it happen again.

Any input you guys have would be great. I don't mind sending it in, but I always like to know what I am getting into

I apologize for not having pics of the second hand, I will post as soon as I can.

That's a hard one. I've always noticed a little variance in the second counter of my chronos, but only slightly - never an entire second direction. I've had some reset slightly behind the 12 o'clock marker and I would just quickly start and stop the chrono hand until it was perfect. Setting forward to 1 second would drive me nuts since you'd have to run the chrono to just under 1 min and then the minute counter would be off by one.

Exactly Sean - it's driving me nuts more than anything - it's annoying to look at. So I'm sure I'll be sending it in after the new year. Here is a quick image - I took it as straight on as I could so you can see it. It's actually 1+second

Joe, as far as I know it may have a tolerance for the minute hand to prevent from shock but not for the chrono second hand.
Reset to zero should be the point and that's what we Ask to a chronograph.

IMO you should send it after new year's holidays.

That's kind of what I thought - that the minute or hour hand would be the one with the play - but the chrono seconds main function is to count 1 minute starting at 0. I'll be sending it back next week or the week after, my ad is about an hour away. If nothing else, it'll get s good check and a return pouch

What does service cost on these watches through an authorized BR service center?
