    Bell and Ross Ceramic Aviator

Just had a really terrible experience with an Ernest Jones in the UK. Bell and Ross UK received my watch for repair under warranty, and didn't touch it. Massively disappointed and upset. Really need some help and advice please, Ernest Jones made me almost feel criminal, simply by asking for a copy of the Bell and Ross service paperwork....

My watch has specs of dust and particles under the crystal, and something trapped at the edge of the crystal, seemingly between the sapphire and gasket at the 6 position, very noticeable whenever I read the time. On an expensive watch, these were not things I expected, watch was purchased brand new at the beginning of the year.

I have some pictures to share which might help

Earnest Jones wouldn't let me take any information regarding the repair service paperwork, made to feel like a criminal and at one point didn't even let me see the paperwork, literally withholding it from me. Managed to get a picture of it, horrible experience from beginning to end

I did send an email directly to Bell and Ross UK on the 13th of January requesting the watch be looked at, but I never received any response from them, which forced me to deal with Earnest Jones.....

All of the blue/green ceramics have that spot at 6 o'clock by design. Someone else thought they had an issue and the B&R service center confirmed it's supposed to be there. Definitely a pain about the dust though.

They don't all have this, I've seen the green military one first hand, was flawless. Also, a quick google search shows others without this issue

    Bell and Ross Ceramic Aviator

Here's a pic of my never-been-serviced Blue Ceramic and a buddy's green ceramic who thought he had an issue as well. Straight from B&R's service center:

The BR0392 CERAMIC MILITARY was produced with two different crystals : a sapphire crystal and, below, a very thin mineral one. With this new conception, we can reach two goals : the sapphire crystal’s resistance and the color’s depth. To avoid any imprisonment effect of the air between both crystals, a notch on the mineral green crystal has been added. This notch is located at 6 o’clock and is hardly visible.

Essentially, there are two crystals sandwiched together, the bottom one being the thin tinted, colored one. I'm pretty OCD when it comes to watches, but I would have never noticed unless someone asked me about it.

Yep, strange, as the military one I saw didn't have it? But then different later and earlier models have different crystals I have heard? Or maybe replacement crystals installed? Mine still has lots of dust particles, possibly trapped between the two crystals?

I may just sell the watch at this point, I've lost all confidence in Bell and Ross, I guess the crystal will always be an issue on this model for dust and particles. Maybe an AR coated crystal from another source would be better for me....

    Decisions, decisions.....
