    Chronograph second hand slightly off

    Hi!

I have had a B&R BR126 now for about two months. It's a fantastic watch and I wear it every day
I do have a question about the chronograph seconds hand though, it does not seem to hold a perfect reset. When a reset the chrono, it is perfect, but after wearing
the watch for a while it seems to be a little off the 12 mark. See photo.
Is this normal for B&R chrono's with the ETA2894-2 with chronograph module?

    Thanks,
    Frode

    Hi Frode,
Did you notice that when you bought it or was it exactly on 12 ?

I bought it on the second hand market, and I did not pay attention to at at that time. I must bring a lupe next time I buy a watch
When it is a little off the 12, I can reset it again and it's perfectly on 12. After i while it's slightly off 12 again.
It's still a year left on the warranty, should I deliver it to a B&R retailer for verification?
Very curious if this is "normal" or not.

Have the same thing with my 01-94 but I don't pay attention... It's really near the 12. But if ever the problem goes to 1 second, would service it.

Its up to you, if you consider it disturbing send it to service while its always under warranty.

I think it's a pretty common thing with the 2894 movement. Even after service it might not reset exactly as you'd like.

In general, I'm ok if it resets a tiny bit behind the 12, so I can quickly start/stop the chrono to make it perfect.

my 01-94 does this but on the sub-dial counter. I find if I stop and hit reset - if it isn't lined up - I hit reset again and it lines up.

I had one BR chrono that would reset to 1 minute passed 12. That required service. A micro-brand I collect and am close enough with the owner to talk candidly about defects and issues told me the chrono hands are really difficult to set and while they may seem tight at first, after a month or so, they won't reset exactly right. If you have the problem I described above (i.e., double reset and it's fine or it consistently resets to the incorrect position) then it is probably a service or "deal" with it issue. If it resets beyond 12 sometimes, before 12 sometimes, at 12 sometimes - then the hand is not perfectly tight and should be reset by a watch maker.

Hope this helps. I can tell you it is perfectly normal to want that to line up exactly right and be frustrated if it doesn't

2 things really bother me - chrono hands not lining up and bezel markers on rotating bezels not lining up.
