NEW INSTRUMENT BR HERITAGE: The origins

NEW INSTRUMENT BR HERITAGE: The origins

Taking its inspiration directly from aircraft cockpit instrument panels, the INSTRUMENT collection
responds to four fundamental principles: legibility, functionality, precision and reliability. The developments
of the INSTRUMENT collection parallel the in-depth technological developments within aeronautical
    instrumentation.
The INSTRUMENT BR 01 is directly inspired by aircraft cockpit on-board instruments from the 1970s.
The INSTRUMENT BR 03 Type Aviation, with its multi-function movement, benefits from technological
advances in watch-making, just like the aircraft cockpits of the 2000s.
With the INSTRUMENT BR HERITAGE, Bell & Ross revives the authentic spirit of a collection watch, this
time taking its inspiration from military aircraft instruments from the 1940s. The BR HERITAGE inspired
by history whilst incorporating the most modern techniques, offers a unique combination of details from
its vintage style hands and numerals to its sand-coloured index and its stamped natural leather strap,
thus giving it the appeal and appearance of the 1940s in a contemporary military watch.
Straddled between yesterday and today, the INSTRUMENT BR HERITAGE draws its inspiration from
history yet uses the most modern techniques to restore the effects of passing time.

Please take a moment to remember or research the mass human effort that was made for our today this time 65 Years ago - D - DAY Europe.

Think of this time 65 Years ago many of our past families gathered on airfields, Ships, and craft awaiting the H Hour, the order to go.

That is our Heritage...So we should alyways Remember them..

    Thanks All.

It's scary to think just how many young men were sitting, nervously waiting for the big push, not knowing exactly what they were up against...

Such as just two elements of the enemy defences at Point du Hoc:

The American Cemetary near Omaha Beach (I think) gives some idea of the loss of life sustained.

And for those of no known grave:

(just one side of the memorial area at this one cemetary)

I am hopefully going back again this year to take in more of what is left. I recommend a trip.

I thoroughly recommend it - there's a lot to see at the different places.

Pointe du hoc would be my first choice of the places I've been as that had a considerable amount of defences and gives a good idea of what the allies were up against that day.

Sadly Omaha beach is little more than a name on a map now - whereas some of the beaches (Utah, I think) still have the barbed wire fencing and so on still in place, Omaha is just a beach with a memorial and a large steel sculpture.

I'll post some more pics if I go again this year, I'm just waiting to hear back from a friend who lives on the south coast and gets cheap ferries through an offer in the local paper.

I would post some more pics here but helpfully work has decided that photobucket should be blocked, which means I can't get to any of my photos...

    Hi Paul,

I like the photos, especially the American Cemetary...kind of reminds me of a WW2 cemetary we have here, though not as large. They have a section for Christians and another for unknown non Christians.

The american cemetary is massive - I think it's 6500 graves, many of which are of unknown men.

That photo doesn't even show 1/8th of the place...

Interesting to see the link between the Heritage and war cemeteries such as Pointe du Hoc.

Here are some of my photos from the Manila American Cemetery.
